Job Summary:
The Scaffold Erector is responsible for safely assembling, altering, and dismantling scaffolding structures on construction or industrial sites. This role ensures that scaffolding is installed to required specifications, adhering to all safety regulations and project guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and disassemble scaffolding systems including tube and clamp, system scaffold, and frame scaffold.
- Inspect work areas and structures to determine scaffold requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and work orders.
- Secure scaffolding to structures to ensure stability and safety.
- Load and unload scaffolding materials.
- Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure all scaffolding work meets safety codes and industry standards.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance of scaffold structures.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members about job progress and safety issues.
- Follow all safety procedures including wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Assist other trades or laborers as needed on the worksite.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Proven experience as a scaffold erector or similar role.
- Certification in scaffold erection (e.g., Scaffold Training Institute) is a plus.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Good physical condition and manual dexterity.
- Familiarity with hand tools and construction equipment.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Must have valid CDL
- Must be willing to travel
Working Conditions
- Outdoor and indoor work on active construction sites.
- Exposure to heights, loud noise, and hazardous environments.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs and work on feet for long periods.
- May require weekend, night, or overtime shifts depending on project demands.
