Position Summary
As a Prefab Technician, you'll help build wall panels, metal framing, and other building components in our warehouse before they're delivered to construction jobsites. If you enjoy working with your hands, using tools, and being part of a team that builds quality products, this is a great opportunity. No commercial drywall experience is required—we're willing to train the right person.
What You'll Do
- Measure, cut, and assemble metal framing and other building materials.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely.
- Read blueprints, drawings and work instructions.
- Inspect your work to make sure it meets quality standards.
- Label and organize completed materials for delivery.
- Help load finished products for shipment.
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe. Work with your team to meet daily production goals.

What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience in construction, manufacturing, warehouse work, or assembly is a plus—but not required.
- Comfortable using or learning hand and power tools.
- Able to read a tape measure or willing to learn.
- Reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn. Able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for most of the workday.
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Bend, reach, kneel, and move materials throughout the shift. Work safely around equipment and machinery while wearing required PPE.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND TRAINING
- Valid driver's license.
- OSHA 30 preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a manufacturing-style prefabrication facility and warehouse environment with frequent exposure to construction materials, powered industrial equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures. The position routinely transitions between office responsibilities and the production floor and may occasionally visit active construction jobsites with varying temperature dependent upon weather.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow all Midwest Drywall safety policies, site-specific safety rules, and applicable OSHA requirements.
- Use required personal protective equipment and immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, or injuries.
- Conduct routine safety observations and production floor inspections.
- Promote and reinforce a proactive safety culture throughout the facility.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $23.00-$32.00 per hour. Final pay is subject to approval and may vary based on directly relevant payroll, construction payroll, union reporting, certified payroll, prevailing wage, payroll tax, systems, audit, and compliance experience; credentials; and internal equity. Eligible employees may participate in the ESOP, 401(k) plan with company match, medical, dental and vision insurance, holidays, flexible spending accounts, and company-paid life and AD&D insurance.
