- Perform and monitor non-pharmacologic, pharmacologic, and PET stress tests in collaboration with the Nuclear Technologist.
- Required Skills:
- IV management (site selection, insertion, removal).
- Recognition of EKG and rhythm abnormalities.
- EKG prep, recording, and preliminary interpretation; report abnormalities to provider.
- Monitor/document vital signs.
- Identify and respond to adverse reactions under provider guidance.
- Provide patient instructions on prep, diet, and medication holds 24–48 hours prior to testing.
- Maintain current CPR/BLS/ACLS certifications.
- Participate in continuing education and maintain competency.
- Attend team meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide orientation, mentorship, and preceptorship to new team members.
- Participate in community education or prevention programs as needed.
- Deliver care consistent with current standards, protocols, and ethical guidelines.
- Support the CT service line when needed and assist with staff training and education.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current, unencumbered RN license in the resident state.
- Minimum two (2) years critical care or similar experience required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Successful completion of assigned EKG, stress testing, and cardiology courses within 12 months of hire.
- Effective communication skills.
- Preferred: Advanced certification in cardiology/cardiovascular nursing.
