Christian Mental Health Therapist (LLPC, LLMSW, LLMFT)

Midwest Behavioral Clinic is a community-focused outpatient mental health practice dedicated to providing compassionate, accessible, and evidence-informed counseling to individuals, couples, and families. We are seeking a therapist who can thoughtfully integrate Christian principles and clinically appropriate faith-based interventions for clients who desire a Christian approach to counseling.

Our practice values ethical care, professional growth, collaboration, and treatment that respects each client’s personal background, beliefs, values, and goals. Faith-based counseling must always be provided with the client’s informed consent and without imposing religious beliefs.

Midwest Behavioral Clinic is seeking a part-time Christian Family Therapist to provide on-site services at our Shelby Township office, which is located within a local church. Midwest Behavioral Clinic operates as an independent outpatient mental health practice, and the therapist will provide confidential clinical services in a private office setting.

The therapist will provide counseling to children, adolescents, couples, and families experiencing relationship concerns, parenting challenges, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, life transitions, and other mental health concerns. The ideal candidate will combine sound clinical practice with a compassionate Christian perspective. When requested by the client, treatment may incorporate biblical principles, prayer, forgiveness, grace, hope, spiritual development, and other appropriate faith-based resources. All services must remain consistent with professional ethics, clinical standards, client autonomy, and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing individual, couples, and family counseling.
• Conducting comprehensive clinical and diagnostic assessments.
• Developing individualized, measurable treatment plans.
• Integrating Christian principles into treatment when requested and clinically appropriate.
• Using evidence-based and trauma-informed therapeutic approaches.
• Maintaining timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation.
• Monitoring client progress and modifying treatment plans as needed.
• Coordinating care with healthcare professionals, clergy, schools, and community resources when authorized and appropriate.
• Maintaining professional boundaries, confidentiality, and compliance with all ethical, legal, and organizational requirements.
• Contributing to a supportive, collaborative, and respectful clinic culture.
  

• Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field.
• Active Michigan license or limited license in counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy, such as an LMFT, LLMFT, LPC, LLPC, LMSW, LLMSW, LMFT.
• Demonstrated competency in clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention.
• Experience working with couples, families, children, adolescents, or diverse relational systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of Christian counseling principles and the ability to integrate a client’s faith into treatment in an ethical and clinically appropriate manner.
• Experience with evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, family-systems therapy, couples therapy, or trauma-informed care is highly beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and clinical documentation skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and high ethical standards.
