Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brakes, and suspension components using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, brake repairs, and alignment adjustments to keep equipment in peak condition.
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving heavy equipment operation, fabrication, welding, soldering, and power tools to restore functionality swiftly.
- Repair and service construction machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery with precision and attention to detail.
- Utilize OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals and electrical diagnostics to accurately identify faults in automotive and industrial equipment.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while handling components or equipment during repairs or assembly processes.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, incident logs, and ensure all work complies with safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, electrical diagnostics, and heavy equipment servicing.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and diagnostic software for troubleshooting electrical or automotive issues.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for complex machinery repairs.
- Experience working with construction machinery such as excavators or cranes; familiarity with Caterpillar or similar OEM brands is advantageous.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation safety protocols along with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely.
