What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASL Educational Interpreter position at Midland Elementary?
Midland School District is accepting applications for an ASL Educational Interpreter to work with a lower elementary student for the current school year.
The following are essential duties for this position:
- Interpret oral communication into sign language and signed communication into spoken English in general education classes
- Facilitate communication among students, the classroom teacher and other personnel in the school district.
- Provide direct tutorial assistance in areas of academic support.
- Convey the content of the message clearly and accurately according to the receptive language level of the student.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Previous educational interpretering preferred
