Midland Care Connection

Midland Care Connection is a not for profit, community based organization dedicated to helping older adults and seriously ill individuals stay independent and supported in their homes. Established in 1978, we offer a full continuum of care, including hospice, palliative care, home health, grief and loss counseling, and our signature PACE (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program. Our mission centers on "meeting individual needs through innovative care solutions," and we serve people across multiple counties in northeast Kansas.

Hospice House

A peaceful, 12 bed, in patient facility dedicated to providing compassionate, end-of-life care when a home setting is no longer feasible. Here, patients receive around the clock, skilled hospice care from a multidisciplinary team—nurses, social workers, chaplains, and other specialists—focused on managing pain and symptoms with dignity and respect. The environment is designed to feel like home, offering comfort not just to the patients but also to their loved ones, providing space for visitation, emotional support, and moments of peace in the final chapter of life.

Dietary Manager

Oversees all food service operations and ensures patients receive safe, nutritious, and comforting meals. They plan menus, supervise kitchen staff, manage food ordering and inventory, and maintain sanitation and regulatory compliance.  In the hospice setting, the role focuses on honoring patient preferences and supporting quality of life, working closely with the clinical team to accommodate special dietary needs and changes in health status.

Hours

Full Time | 4-10 hour shifts
Weekend and holiday availability is required 

Qualifications:

Required

  • Proven ability and willingness to actively cook and participate in daily meal production 
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in food service or dietary operations
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Supervisory or leadership experience
  • Ability to manage inventory and food ordering
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Food safety certification (as required by state regulations)

Preferred

  • Experience in healthcare, long-term care, or hospice setting
  • Formal training in nutrition or food service management
  • Experience with budgeting and cost control
  • Experience supervising kitchen staff
