What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipefitter – Industrial position at Mideast Fabrication?
About the role
: We're looking for experienced pipefitters to support industrial and process piping projects across the U.S. Work is a mix of shop and field with regular travel and per diem on eligible jobs.
Key responsibilities
- Install and fit carbon and stainless process piping from isometrics and P&IDs
- Layout, measure, cut, bevel, and prep pipe for welders
- Install pipe supports, hangers, and basic structural members
- Work safely in operating plants, at heights, and in confined spaces
- Coordinate with welders, foremen, and site supervision to stay on schedule
Requirements
- 4 years industrial pipefitting experience (plants, process, or mechanical construction)
- Able to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and plan drawings with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of pipe specs, fittings, and supports
- Must supply your own standard pipefitter tooling (tape, levels, squares, bevel tools, torpedo, etc.)
- Comfortable working outdoors and in active industrial environments
- Willing and able to travel nationwide and work some overtime when projects require it
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
