Position Summary: This Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) position ensures the highest standards of food safety, production efficiency, and administrative accuracy across all school sites. While Level IV focuses on a specific kitchen, Level V provides district-wide support, oversight, and specialized administrative management.Administrative & Technical

Duties:

  • Specialized Nutrition Management: Monitor allergy imports into Horizon, send special menus to families, and provide the Supervisor with real-time updates on students requiring special menus. Work with the school nursing staff on updates.
  • Milk Reporting: Print Milk reports, follow up with teachers who have incomplete forms, and enter all milk data into the POS system.
  • Documentation: Prepare Central warehouse documentation. Update all recipe documentation and the "Yellow Lead Binder" to ensure allergen lists and case sizes are current and accurate.
  • Community Engagement: Coordinate "Back to School" events district-wide and prepare all necessary materials. Update the Food Services District website as needed
  • Order Fulfillment: Handle all classroom snack orders and ensure accurate delivery/billing. Serve as the backup for both Supervisors for ordering milk, bread, GFS, and combining of orders
  • Communication: Develop and maintain positive professional interactions with foodservice staff, students, all MCPASD staff, and the community, utilizing excellent customer service skills. District-Wide Leadership & Training
  • Lead & Train: Act as the primary mentor for team members district-wide in preparing and executing school meals. Train new staff on POS
  • Performance Oversight: Continually assess the need for performance improvements across all site staff and report findings/results directly to the Supervisor. Performs yearly site reviews for the district. Tracks all evaluations and due dates. Track all staff trainings with the USDA and Public Works Production & Logistics
  • Operations: Perform all duties of FNS Levels I through IV as needed.
  • Onboarding of new employees
  • Inventory Excellence: Conduct and oversee monthly inventories of all products, ensuring accuracy in the sites.

  • Ability to attain precise set limits, tolerances, and standards.Working Conditions: This job is performed inside. The temperature could reach up to 110 degrees. There are all district school nutrition staff meetings each school year that may be held outside the assigned building. On an occasional basis, staff may be assigned to another building temporarily to help with an emergent issue. Physical / Mental Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of up to 4 hours.
  • Must be able to perform heavy physical work, regularly lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively on the phone and in person to provide information and assistance.
  • Must be able to reach in all directions and bend/stoop to store and retrieve products and equipment.
  • Must have manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination necessary to operate a computer keyboard, hand tools, power lifts, and other equipment such as a copier, printer, etc.
  • Hearing activity requires the ability to participate in numerous conversations throughout the day, both in person and over the phone.
  • Must be able to complete job duties in a fast-paced environment where background noise and frequent interruptions are the norm, as well as in both room temperature and cold temperatures (coolers and freezers).
  • Must have the ability to maintain concentration and focus on tasks requiring timeliness and attention to detail. Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, advanced food service training preferred.
  • Five years or more of school or other institutional food service experience with some staff leadership responsibility.
  • Computer proficiency in word processing, email, spreadsheet, and inventory systems.
  • Serve Safe Certification with a State of Wisconsin Restaurant Manager License within 1 year of hire.
  • School Nutrition Association Level One Certification is required within six months of hire(Level Two and above preferred).
  • Bilingual Skills - Spanish/English Preferred.
