Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree-granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. MGA has five campuses-Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins, all located in central Georgia-and global outreach through its fully-online campus. The Media, Culture and the Arts Department builds on a solid foundation in the liberal arts to guide students toward their academic goals while preparing them for society. MCA coursework develops expertise in the visual arts, music, media production, writing, communication, and modern languages.

The Middle Georgia State University Music Program invites applications for an Adjunct Guitar Instructor. We are seeking an experienced, student-centered educator who is passionate about developing the next generation of musicians in a dynamic and growing program.

• Teaching applied guitar lessons to music majors and non-majors
• Coaching chamber groups or commercial ensembles as needed
• Participating in juries and contributing to student assessment
• Collaborating with faculty to support student success and program growth
• Potential opportunities for additional courses depending on experience and departmental needs

Required Educational Qualifications

Master¿s degree in music or a closely related field required

Required Experience

Successful teaching experience at the collegiate or pre-collegiate level

Other Required Qualifications

Demonstrated excellence in guitar performance (classical, jazz, commercial, or contemporary styles are all welcome)
Strong communication skills and a commitment to mentoring students

Preferred Educational Qualifications

Doctoral degree in music

Preferred Experience

Experience teaching in-person and online

Other Preferred Qualifications

Ability to connect students with music industry professionals
Qualified to teach MUSC 1006 Perspectives on Music & Society, MUSC 1100 Music Appreciation and MUSC 4250 Survey of the Entertainment Industry
