Job Summary
The student will be responsible for answering general financial aid questions and receiving financial aid documents. As well assisting students to complete their FAFSA online.
Responsibilities
- Perform clerical or data entry tasks and file important documents accordingly.
- Prepare outgoing mail as assigned.
- Scan, copy and retrieve documents as required by Financial Aid Office
- Assist in separating and time-stamping incoming mail for distribution.
- Make phone calls to prospective and enrolled students.
- Support the front office staff, covering the reception area, as needed.
- Copy, sort, and compile various financial packets for outreach recruitment events.
- Maintain all work areas in a clean and organized manner.
- Maintain his/her academic work load while handling a work study job opportunity.
- Must be dependable and prompt.
- Must adhere to the code of confidentiality of The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requirements as aligned with the University System of Georgia and MGA.
- Be cordial to all students, staff, faculty and visitors entering the office.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum GPA of 2.0
- Be enrolled at Middle Georgia State University for at least 6 credit hours, 12 hours preferably.
- Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- A student worker must have knowledge of computers and different software programs.
- Any prior job experience in an office environment is helpful, but not necessary.
