About Us
Founded in 1852, GSC is a member of the University System of Georgia. The college has a distinctive legacy of excellent scholarship and service. GSC offers nearly 30 degrees, which includes multiple associate and baccalaureate pathways for students. With an enrollment of over 3,100 students, GSC offers an intimate academic setting with state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories. In this setting, students receive individualized attention that only a small college with dedicated faculty and staff can provide.

Job Summary
This position is responsible for answering calls and providing financial aid, admissions, and other information to students, potential students, and members of the general public.

Responsibilities

  • Answers incoming telephone calls; greets and assists callers in a prompt and courteous manner; answers questions and provides general information.
  • Provides financial aid and/or admissions information to students, potential students and parents.
  • Relays critical information to Financial Aid and/or Admissions staff.
  • Directs calls to appropriate departments or personnel as needed; returns calls and takes messages.
  • Perform routine clerical duties.
  • Performs related duties.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible for Federal Work Study.
  • Must be enrolled in at least six (6) academic credit hours.
  • Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of computers.
  • Skill in decision making and problem solving.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
