MBN is seeking a Visual & Video Specialist responsible for creating compelling visuals and editing multimedia content across various formats. This role plays a key part in producing engaging digital content for distribution across MBN’s multiple online platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for visual storytelling, excellent video editing skills, and the ability to adapt content for different digital audiences and formats.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities listed below are essential functions of the job:

• Film and edit high-quality video content tailored for a variety of digital platforms, such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Substack.
• Operate and manage video production platforms, such as Riverside.fm
• Handle two digital video kits in the field; manage lighting setup and basic sound capture independently.
• Edit and sync multi-source footage, including interviews, b-roll, and externally filmed segments.
• Enhance audio and video quality using AI tools (e.g., Descript, Adobe Enhance, Topaz, or similar).
• Use transcription programs to overlay text over video.
• Collaborate with editorial leads to adapt footage for both horizontal (16:9) and vertical (9:16) formats.
• Deliver edited files optimized for fast publishing and cross-platform compatibility.
• Film using DSLR cameras or similar professional-grade equipment with full command of framing, exposure, and focus.
  
  

OTHER DUTIES:

The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties and take on other responsibilities as dictated by events and circumstances.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• 3 years of professional experience in video production, especially for digital and social media platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, motion graphics, design, multimedia, or related field is preferred.
• Proven experience with Adobe Premiere Pro (advanced level). Familiarity with After Effects is a plus.
• Experience operating remote video platforms such as Riverside.fm, Zoom, or similar for interviews and podcasts.
• Advanced lighting experience.
• Proficient in filming with DSLR/mirrorless cameras and managing field video kits, including lighting and audio capture.
• Strong command of framing, lighting, and sound recording for both studio and field environments.
• Demonstrated ability to edit multi-source footage, sync audio/video, and deliver clean, polished edits under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with AI-powered editing tools like Descript, Adobe Enhance, and Topaz Labs to streamline post-production.
• Experience with captioning and subtitling tools, such as Happy Scribe and Adobe transcription tools, and applying them creatively in videos.
• Ability to create exports in multiple aspect ratios (16:9, 9:16, 1:1) and tailor content for YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
• Excellent file management and media organization skills.
• Excellent verbal and written Arabic and English communication skills.
• Knowledge of online and social media journalism.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under stress with accuracy and balance.
• Knowledge of current International and US events.
• Ability to accommodate flexible work schedule to support 24/7 news environment.
• Ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
