Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs on powertrain components, transmissions, vehicle suspension systems, and steering mechanisms to restore optimal vehicle performance.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs and maintenance tasks across various vehicle systems.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical problems efficiently.
- Repair or replace vehicle transmission systems, diesel engines, and other mechanical components following manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct wheel alignments and suspension system repairs to ensure proper vehicle handling and safety standards.
- Assist in auto estimating processes by accurately assessing repair needs and communicating findings clearly to customers.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete repair reports, and ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.
Experience
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Hands-on experience working with GM vehicles or similar brands is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge across various systems including powertrain, electrical wiring, transmissions, and suspension.
- Skilled in using schematics, diagnostic software, and automotive wiring diagram interpretation for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Experience with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration and repairs is a plus.
- Proficiency with welding techniques for structural repairs or modifications is advantageous.
- Customer service skills that enable clear communication of technical information to clients while maintaining a professional demeanor.
