General Purpose
The Human Resources Generalist provides professional-level HR support with responsibility for core HR operations, including payroll administration, onboarding, recruitment coordination, and employee records management. This role ensures that established HR processes are executed accurately, timely, and in compliance with applicable laws and credit union policies.
The HR Generalist serves as a key point of contact for employees and leaders on routine HR matters, delivers a consistent and positive employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle, and supports the effective functioning of HR systems and workflows. This position operates within established guidelines and escalates complex, sensitive, or non-routine matters as appropriate.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Employee Support & HR Administration:
Serve as the first point of contact for employees on routine HR questions related to policies, procedures, and processes
Provide guidance on standard HR practices while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Maintain accurate employee records and documentation throughout the employment lifecycle
Support HR reporting, tracking, and audit preparation as needed
Serve as the primary owner of HR process consistency across the employee lifecycle, escalating issues involving legal risk, complex employee relations, benefits, or policy interpretation to senior HR leadership
Payroll Administration
Administer bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy of timecards, wage data, pay changes, incentives, and deductions
Coordinate payroll-related activities with benefits administration, retirement contributions, and HR systems
Serve as a primary contact for payroll questions and issue resolution
Review payroll data and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Onboarding & New Hire Experience
Coordinate all onboarding activities, including new hire orientation, HRIS setup, and completion of required employment and compliance documentation
Ensure employee records are accurately created and maintained within HR systems
Conduct 60-day new hire and promotion check-ins to support engagement, training, and retention
Recruitment & Hiring
Manage job postings and applicant tracking system administration
Coordinate recruitment activities, including candidate screening, pre-employment assessments, and background checks
Support offer preparation and start-date coordination in partnership with hiring leaders
Provide guidance to leaders on hiring processes and best practices
HR Systems, Reporting & Records
Maintain personnel files including wage history, onboarding documentation, and employment changes
Process employee transfers, status changes, and terminations
Submit HRIS support and access requests as needed
Ensure confidentiality, data accuracy, and compliance with record retention requirements
Offboarding & Exit Process
Coordinate employee offboarding activities and exit interviews
Provide employees with information related to benefits continuation and final pay
Ensure termination data is accurately reflected across payroll and HR systems
Other Duties And Responsibilities
Serve as a departmental liaison with other departments as needed
Assist with HR reporting, tracking, and operational support
Perform other professional duties as assigned

Pay: $26.88-$40.34
