Job Description
Mid Michigan Medical Billing Service is hiring for a Credentialing Specialist at our Flint location. Candidate duties include all aspects of Insurance Credentialing
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all insurance credentialing of new and established providers with Medicare, Medicaid and all commercial insurance companies and plans.
- Primary accountability for processing and maintaining all new insurance enrollments and re-validations. Assist with applications and paperwork to secure facility privileges, and maintain license and certifications.
- Handling all re-credentialing and maintenance issues with all commercial payers
- Maintain credentialing documents and contracts for Facility, Group and/or Providers
- Physician and Facility re-credentialing management and manage contract renewals
- Responsible for ensuring physician and Facility information is accurate and up-to-date with insurance companies
- Revalidations of insurances (Medicare, Medicaid etc.)
- Re-attestation and Maintenance of CAQH on schedule
- Updating and Maintenance of PECOS and CHAMPS
- Maintain close communication with all clients to ensure that records are up-to-date and consistent.
- Document all tasks, phone calls, emails and other forms of communication in our credentialing software during the Credentialing/Re-credentialing process with new and existing clients.
- Interact professionally with medical offices and their staff on behalf of Mid Michigan Medical Billing Service providing information about Credentialing for the practice and providers.

Requirements
- Associate’s degree is preferred; or, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Knowledge of Medical Insurance Credentialing
- Must be friendly and professional with excellent communication and written skills.
- Able to work well under tight deadlines and respond to rapidly changing demands and provide efficient follow up
- Capable and comfortable dealing with sensitive and confidential information with discretion and trust
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others, be a team player.
