Seasonal Kitchen Worker

The Seasonal Kitchen Worker helps with the daily preparation, packaging, and handling of meals at Mid-Land Meals. This hands-on position supports kitchen staff in preparing nutritious meals for older adults and others served by our programs. We're looking for someone who is dependable, works well with others, and is comfortable in a busy kitchen environment. Seasonal employment will continue through the end of 2026 and may have the potential to become a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

Meal Preparation & Packaging

• Assist with preparing, portioning, and packaging meals.
• Help operate kitchen equipment as trained.
• Label, organize, and store prepared meals.
• Assist with assembling meal trays and preparing meals for delivery.

Cleaning & Food Safety

• Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment.
• Clean and sanitize workstations and food preparation areas.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.
• Help maintain organized and clean kitchen and storage areas.

General Kitchen Support

• Assist with receiving and putting away food deliveries.
• Help maintain and rotate food inventory.
• Work with other kitchen staff to keep daily production running smoothly.
• Complete other kitchen duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred but not required.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Ability to work well with others and follow instructions.
• Basic understanding of food safety and cleanliness.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions

This position involves working in a commercial kitchen with exposure to hot and cold temperatures, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas. Employees must be comfortable standing, bending, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks throughout their shifts.

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
