Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Quality Manager role located in Minneapolis, MN. The Quality Manager will oversee and enhance the quality management system, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include leading quality assurance activities, managing internal and external audits, developing and maintaining quality control processes, overseeing defect analysis, training team members on quality standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products to clients.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:
- Training, coaching, mentoring, and evaluating the quality department employees.
- Scheduling and prioritizing jobs through the Quality Department. First Piece Inspections, FAI, Completing AS9102’s. Assisting in preparing FAI submissions, as appropriate.
- Deployment of Quality Core Process; Final Inspection, First Piece Inspection, Receiving Inspection
- Maintaining MRB Process and nonconforming materials
- POC for Mid-Continent Engineering, LLC Customers
- Voice of the Customer
- Corrective Action Process, CAPA, use of 4 by 5 WHY Problem-Solving Tool, Supplier Corrective Action
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or G.E.D; a degree in related field is highly preferred.
- 5 years of Mechanical Inspection experience in a machining / metal working environment.
- 5 years of management / supervision
- Working knowledge of Blueprint Reading and GD&T
- Extensive experience with mechanical test equipment, granite open plate inspection, CMM, etc.
- Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook. Epicor ERP software experience is a plus.
- Formal problem-solving experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Quality Management Systems and Implementation, Lead Auditor experienced in ISO9000 or AS9100.
- Excellent knowledge of problem-solving tools and possess the skills to train and mentor.
- Strong knowledge of business process development and, lean manufacturing/continuous improvement methodologies.
- Must be able to effectively communicate detailed information both verbally and written forms.
- Must be able to understand, implement, and train new ideas, techniques, and tools effectively.
