We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance department and ensure the seamless operation of our plant equipment and facilities. You will be responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all maintenance activities, leveraging your expertise to implement best engineering practices. Reporting to the VP of Operations, your leadership will be crucial in minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Your Impact:
- Build and empower a high-performing maintenance team through effective recruitment, training, and ongoing development.
- Design and execute a robust preventive maintenance program that minimizes unscheduled downtime and maximizes equipment lifespan.
- Implement and utilize organizational tools to continuously improve safety protocols and operational efficiency within the maintenance function.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive asset criticality program, enabling meticulous tracking of maintenance history, efficient work order generation, and strategic management of critical parts inventory.
- Establish clear and standardized procedures (SOPs and Standard Work Instructions) for all maintenance activities.
- Provide expert oversight and guidance during critical equipment repairs and replacements, including key systems like elevator legs, dryers, large motors, and packaging machinery.
- Participate in a scheduled weekend duty rotation to ensure continuous operational support.
What You'll Bring:
- High School Diploma.
- Significant management experience within a maintenance department, demonstrating a strong track record of achieving results through effective leadership and team development, coupled with technical acumen and conceptual understanding.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations, prioritize effectively, and make sound decisions that impact overall operations.
- Advanced computer skills and a proven ability to adapt to and leverage new technologies and software solutions.
Work Environment:
This role is primarily based in the plant environment, which may involve exposure to varying noise levels, temperatures, and other indoor and outdoor elements. The Maintenance Manager may also encounter moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, and chemicals.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position include:
- Occasionally lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Frequent climbing of stairs and ladders.
- Occasional operation of flow valves.
- Regular walking throughout the facility (up to 2 or more miles daily).
- Occasional pushing (e.g., brooms, shovels).
- Working at various heights, in confined spaces, and in temperatures ranging from 0 to over 100°F.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Consistent adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Utilizing hand and power tools as necessary.
