Starting Base Compensation: $45,760 annually
Benefits Value: Approximately $49,754 annually

Position Summary

The Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council Apprentice & Training Program is seeking a dependable, organized, and professional Administrative Assistant to support the daily administrative operations of our training program.

Our organization is committed to developing the skilled workforce of the union carpentry industry through high-quality apprenticeship education, training, and support. Administrative employees play an important role in that mission and frequently serve as a primary point of contact for apprentices, instructors, union representatives, contractors, and other external partners.

The ideal candidate will be someone who takes pride in accuracy, organization, customer service, and follow-through. This position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate professionally, maintain confidential information, and provide consistent administrative support in a busy professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

  • Provide administrative and clerical support for the Training Program and campus leadership.
  • Greet and assist apprentices, members, instructors, contractors, visitors, and other stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Answer and route telephone calls, emails, and other correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper records, files, forms, and documentation.
  • Enter, update, and review information in organizational databases and administrative systems.
  • Assist with apprentice records, class information, scheduling, registrations, and general program documentation.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, forms, and other administrative materials.
  • Assist with meeting preparation, calendars, appointments, and scheduling as assigned.
  • Receive, organize, distribute, and process incoming documents and communications.
  • Maintain confidentiality when working with employee, apprentice, financial, operational, or other sensitive information.
  • Coordinate with instructors, administrative staff, leadership, and other departments to help ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Maintain an organized and professional office and reception environment.
  • Complete assigned projects accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support the mission and operations of the Training Program.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should demonstrate:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous administrative, office, clerical, customer-service, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and changing priorities.
  • Professional telephone, email, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Proficiency with basic office technology and the ability to learn new software and administrative systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Commitment to professionalism, accountability, accuracy, and respectful workplace interactions.

Compensation & Benefits

This position begins at the equivalent of $45,760 annually, based on a starting wage of $22.00 per hour and a standard 2,080-hour work year.

In addition to base compensation, the position includes a substantial benefits package valued at approximately $49,754 annually, including:

  • Healthcare
  • Pension
  • Annuity

The combined value of wages and benefits is approximately:

$95,514 in total annual compensation

The benefits value represents the estimated annual value of the benefit package and is separate from the employee’s base wages.
