YOUR DAY-TO-DAY (Role Summary)
Overseeing day to day operations of the Helix/Power Grid/Magnetron Business Unit to meet the sales targets and EBITDA goals. Drive manufacturing productivity and root cause corrective actions. Ensure smooth and efficient workflow, drive innovation and new technology. Develop/Coach and provide oversight to manufacturing engineers and Production Managers. The Operations Manager will also be responsible for meeting On Time Delivery and Past Due goals, production requirements and inventory levels of the operation.
Reports to the Vice President of Operations. Cross-functional work with Quality Assurance to achieve the quality objective, the Sales team to develop strategies, and the Manufacturing Engineering team to drive productivity.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Learn and promote the TransDigm culture to the operational team.
- Exercises responsibility for the management and EBITDA performance of the Klystron Gyrotron Business Unit.
- Assumes responsibility for creating the annual operating plan quarterly forecasts for submission to the Vice President of Operations
- Prepare and present operational reports to senior management.
- Maintain a daily report of the monthly and quarterly sales.
- Exercises responsibility for development, consistency and credibility of short- and long-term plans for the operations
- Provides for the preparation, accuracy and execution of forecasts and master schedules for production and inventory
- Responsible for product cost.
- Coordinates cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration to improve on the design and development of product lines, plant area layout, material flow, economic assembly product lines, plant area layout, material flow, economic assembly methods, and quality control as required.
- Determines the business units long term needs for staffing, equipment and facilities and assists subordinate managers in determination of short-term needs
- Reviews, approves, and consolidates budgets of subordinate departments and manages for effective expense control
- Exercises responsibility for personnel activities within the operations including hires, terminations, transfers, performance reviews, salary actions, affirmative action’s plans and job assignments
- Exercises responsibility for training, developing and motivating subordinates
- Implements the company’s affirmative action plans as it applies to the function supervised. Monitors conduct and relationships among the employees supervised to prevent discriminatory acts or comments
- Assures that each employee is properly trained to prevent injury or illness
- Assists subordinate supervisors in resolving problems which may affect department’s performance and advises superiors on these problems and actions taken
- Assumes responsibility for proper equipment maintenance, calibration, and good housekeeping practices
- Performs other related assignments as required by business objectives.

Preferred Qualifications
- BS Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or similar discipline. Advanced management training desirable.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience of implementing and driving productivity in a high mix/low volume manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lead a diverse, highly technical work force
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary Range : $170,000 - $220,000 depending on experience
