Job description:
The Microtel by Wyndham in Onalaska is looking for a wonderful individual to join our awesome front desk team to serve as our guests’ first point of contact and manage all aspects of their accommodation. The role of Front Office Representative requires an individual to have the ability to provide superior guest service in a fast-paced hotel environment, ensuring 100% guest satisfaction.
This shift would be either Morning (7AM-3PM), Evening (3PM-11PM) or Overnight
Responsibilities and Duties
- Be the warm welcome that kicks off a memorable guest experience.
- Take and manage guest bookings, and up-selling opportunities and telling them about ways to improve their stay.
- Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data.
- Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
- Acknowledge Rewards Club members and returning guests, in person or on the phone.
- Records and communicates guest special requests and problems to the appropriate department and ensures they are addressed in a timely and acceptable manner.
- Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates, and amenities.
- Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Liaise with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy, and fully furnished to accommodate guests’ needs.
- Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees, like wedding guests.
- Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate
- Stay safe all the time. Following our safety procedures, you’ll report all incidents and wear any protective gear needed.
- Maintain updated records of bookings and payments.
Qualifications and Skills
- Work experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, Receptionist, or similar role.
- Experience with hotel reservations software, like SynXis PMS, Opera PMS and others.
- Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Booking, Expedia, and TripAdvisor.
- Customer service attitude.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A degree in hotel management is a plus.
