What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Engineer, Platform, SMAI position at Micron Technology?

Design and maintain cloud platform solutions and support technical customers who are developing application-level solutions using ML and AI. Delivering Snowflake and other platform services and features to best support the organizations growing needs through strong collaboration with vendor engineering teams. Maintain a high standard of service level by promptly addressing customer requests with a friendly attitude and delivering quality solutions. Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), best practices, and limitations for the platform team and its customers. Partner with SMAI project teams to optimize solutions, including query tuning and recommending appropriate services for high performance, scalability, and extensibility. Proactively identify inefficiencies and anomalies to optimize costs through monitoring solutions. Stay informed about new services and features released on the supported platforms. Develop and enhance platform metrics to identify performance and error opportunities. Collaborate with partner teams (Cloud, Unix, Network) to ensure seamless operations. Work closely with SMTS solution architects and enablement teams to establish common services, tools, and patterns. Adhere to GDW Security guidelines to protect intellectual property. Design and implement security architecture and audit for data warehouses to protect sensitive information using RBAC and other industry standards. Using a clear understanding of Snowflake and EntraId, implement identity federation and authentication requirements. Stay updated on Snowflake roadmaps and upcoming changes to services through regular communication with the vendor and public forums. Evaluate new and private preview services and features, following SMTS Enablement and ARB guidelines. Clearly document findings, communicate with platform members, and provide feedback and requirements to vendors. Establish innovative techniques to improve performance and optimization of Snowflake workloads.
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
