In this role, you won't just be fetching coffee. Instead, you’ll be building, coding, and documenting real-world projects that help other students and engineers learn how to use modern microcontrollers.
Position Overview
- CircuitPython Exploration: Design and code interactive projects using CircuitPython. If it blinks, moves, or senses, you’ll be the one making it happen.
- Logic Design: Work with Microchip’s Configurable Logic Block (CLB) on PIC microcontrollers. You’ll help bridge the gap between traditional coding and hardware logic.
- Project Documentation: It’s not finished until it’s documented. You’ll create clear, engaging content (guides, code snippets, and demos) to show others how to recreate your projects.
- Debug & Iterate: You’ll learn the "fine art" of troubleshooting hardware and software until it works perfectly.
This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in an R&D environment before you even graduate high school. You’ll be mentored by engineers and get a head start on the tools used in college and the professional world.
Requirements/Qualifications
Requirements
- Python Basics: You don't need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable with the fundamentals of Python.
- Digital Logic Fundamentals: You should understand the basics (gates, flip-flops, or how binary works).
- A "Maker" Mindset: You enjoy building things and aren't afraid to get your hands dirty with hardware.
- Communication Skills: You can explain how something works in writing or through a demo.
- How to develop for CircuitPython and Microchip PIC ecosystems.
- Introduction to Verilog and hardware description languages.
- Professional documentation and content creation for the tech industry.
