Job Title: Field Service Calibration Technician

Location:San Carlos, CA (Local Travel Required)

Schedule:Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Optional Overtime)

Pay Rate:$28–$35 per hour, depending on experience (DPE)

International Process Solutions (IPS) supports the pharmaceutical and biotech industries through calibration and preventive maintenance of process equipment, facility systems, utilities, and QC laboratory instrumentation. IPS is also a factory-authorized OEM representative for multiple lines of pharmaceutical process equipment.

Position Overview

IPS is seeking a Field Service Calibration Technician to perform on-site calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of laboratory and process equipment. This local field service role requires approximately 65–75% travel to customer sites within regulated pharmaceutical and biotech environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory and process instruments.
• Service equipment including incubators, pipettes, balances, freezers, BSCs, and fume hoods.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including filter changes, lubrication, and mechanical adjustments.
• Apply calibration principles to ensure equipment accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Follow IPS and client SOPs while maintaining accurate service documentation.
• Support metrology, quality control, and compliance with applicable standards.
• Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to coordinate service activities.
• Identify, document, and report equipment failures or nonconformances.
• Travel to local customer sites; occasional overtime or weekend work may be required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven experience calibrating pharmaceutical, mass, temperature, or electrical equipment.
• High school diploma required; technical degree, certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Military PMEL/TMDE/DOD training and familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 standards strongly preferred.
• Mechanical and/or electronics background to support calibration and maintenance activities.
• Strong attention to detail with a high standard for documentation accuracy and professionalism.
• Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely in various customer environments.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while using basic hand and power tools.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, U.S. citizen or permanent resident required.
