Job Summary:
This position reports to the System Design Engineering Department and is responsible for the design, development, and test of DC-DC power electronic systems, components, or circuits for use within Micro Control Burn-In Systems. The candidate will use computer assisted engineering design software and equipment to accomplish goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design DC to DC switching power supplies. Designs are high current (>100A), high power (>250W), polyphase, and digitally microcontroller controlled.
- Analog simulation & analysis of DC-DC switching power supplies. (Buck SMPS)
- Select components, design & enter schematics, create BOMs, and propose PCB placements.
- Implement microcontroller code to control power supplies.
- Write test programs to verify hardware.
- Leadership of a small team through projects and coordinate with other departments.
- Design validation process. Provide template for internal and external diagnostics.
- Develops user manuals that include detailed how-to, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Collaborates with Sales team and customers to define product requirements.
- Performs all other related duties as requested or assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years relevant engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in related field.
- Ability to work cooperatively as a team leader, team member, and independently.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills.
- Up to 5% domestic and international travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years relevant engineering experience.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Project management experience.
- Cadence Allegro PCB design experience.
- Thermal control experience.
- Verilog FPGA logic design experience.
