POSITION OVERVIEW
A professional sports organization in Tucson, Arizona is seeking an experienced Vice President of Ticketing & Revenue Strategy to lead ticketing operations, box office management, pricing strategy, inventory management, and the ticketing team.
This position combines senior-level strategy with hands-on execution. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable developing pricing and revenue strategies, reviewing manifests and inventory, leading a team, and stepping into day-to-day box office and ticket fulfillment operations when needed. Approximately six ticketing department employees will report to this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead all ticketing and box office operations for the organization.
- Develop and execute ticket pricing and revenue strategies to maximize attendance and ticket revenue.
- Manage ticket manifests, inventory, pricing tiers, holds, releases, and seat availability.
- Oversee individual, season, group, promotional, and other ticketing programs.
- Manage and optimize ticket sales and fulfillment through Spinzo and the organization's primary ticketing platforms.
- Oversee fulfillment of group ticket purchases and related transactions.
- Analyze sales trends, inventory movement, attendance, and revenue performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with sales, marketing, sponsorship, finance, and executive leadership on ticketing initiatives and promotions.
- Ensure box office operations are accurate, efficient, and provide an excellent fan experience.
- Lead, coach, and manage approximately six members of the ticketing department.
- Establish clear expectations, processes, and accountability throughout the department.
- Serve as the organization's senior subject-matter expert for ticketing operations and strategy.
- Remain actively involved in daily operations and support game-day and event ticketing as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years of professional sports business experience required.
- Significant ticketing and/or box office operations experience within professional sports required.
- Experience managing ticket inventory, manifests, pricing, and ticket fulfillment.
- Strong understanding of sports ticket pricing and revenue strategy.
- Experience with Spinzo strongly preferred.
- Experience with major sports ticketing platforms and related ticketing technology.
- Previous leadership or people-management experience strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to balance high-level strategy with detailed day-to-day execution.
- Ability to work on-site in Tucson five days per week and support games/events outside traditional business hours when required.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is an experienced sports ticketing professional who knows how to wear multiple hats. This person understands both sides of ticketing: the strategy behind maximizing revenue and attendance and the operational details required to run a successful box office.
They should be comfortable making decisions around pricing, inventory, manifests, and revenue strategy while also understanding ticket fulfillment, group transactions, troubleshooting, game-day operations, and team leadership. This role is best suited for a visible, hands-on leader who enjoys working closely with the team.
LEADERSHIP SCOPE
This position will oversee the organization's ticketing department, with approximately six direct reports, and will work closely with senior leadership on ticketing strategy, revenue optimization, and overall business performance.
COMPENSATION & RELOCATION
The anticipated base salary range is $80,000-$100,000, plus bonus. Local Tucson-area candidates are preferred; however, relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate.
INTERVIEW PROCESS
Qualified candidates will initially participate in a Zoom interview with senior leadership. Candidates advancing through the process may then be invited to an in-person interview in Tucson. This is a priority hire, with the organization targeting an October 2026 start date.
