Title- Staff Accountant
Location- Reno, NV
Duration- Full time/ Direct hire
Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. This position will work closely with the accounting team to ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank, AP, AR, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
Support the preparation of financial statements and internal financial reports.
Analyze account variances and research discrepancies.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and schedules.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed.
Maintain organized and accurate supporting documentation for financial entries.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis as requested.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1–3 years of accounting experience in public accounting or a corporate environment.
Solid understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA candidate or actively pursuing a CPA license.
Experience with month-end close automation tools.
Exposure to multi-entity or multi-currency accounting.
