Light Duty Machine Operator
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Light Duty Machine Operator to operate tea bag production machinery as part of a two-person team. The operator will work closely with a partner to keep the machine running efficiently, maintain product quality, and meet daily production goals.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, works well with others, and can maintain a steady pace in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate tea bag production machines safely and efficiently with a partner
- Work as part of a two-person team to monitor and maintain machine operation
- Load and replenish materials as needed during production
- Monitor machines for proper operation and make basic adjustments when necessary
- Inspect tea bags and finished products for quality, accuracy, and defects
- Maintain consistent production standards and meet daily production goals
- Communicate with your partner and supervisor regarding machine performance, materials, and production issues
- Identify and report equipment problems or quality concerns promptly
- Keep the production area clean, organized, and safe
- Perform routine cleaning and basic machine maintenance as required
- Follow production procedures, work instructions, and food safety requirements
- Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines
- Perform other production duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, or machine operation preferred
- Experience operating production machinery is a plus
- Ability to work effectively with a partner and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced production environment
- Basic math skills required
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
- Willingness to learn machine operation and production procedures
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the work shift
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, and perform repetitive movements
- Ability to work around production machinery safely
- Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or order pickers preferred
- Must follow OSHA and all workplace safety guidelines at all times
