Position Summary
Are you an organized, energetic food service professional? We are looking for a Snackshop/Concession Attendant to help drive daily culinary operations at Hubbard Hall! In this role, you will do more than just serve food—you will mentor student staff, maintain top-tier kitchen standards, and help deliver outstanding Spartan experiences every single day.
- Lead & Mentor: Oversee and assist student staff in preparing high-quality, "short order" style food items.
- Manage Inventory: Assist with ordering, receiving, verifying, and taking inventory of food and supply items to keep operations running smoothly.
- Control Quality & Waste: Ensure proper handling and storage of food and supplies to maximize operational efficiency and reduce spoilage.
- Uphold Sanitation Standards: Direct student staff in the proper sanitation of the unit, dishes, utensils, and work areas according to prescribed health codes.
- Handle Transactions: Operate a cash register during assigned shifts and maintain accurate financial controls for all transactions.
Minimum Requirements
- Graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
- Working knowledge of food preparation and serving techniques is necessary.
- Two years satisfactory experience at the Food Service Worker level or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience is necessary.
- Some willingness to work a flexible shift is necessary.
- Standards of personal hygiene consistent with sanitation rules and regulations is necessary.
- Some overseeing and cash handling experience is desirable.
- Occasional lifting of over 75 pounds is required.
- Possession of a valid Michigan operator's license(s) may be necessary.
What We Are Looking For:
- Education: High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Two to three years of satisfactory experience in Residential and Hospitality Services (or equivalent technical training).
- Skills: Working knowledge of food preparation, serving techniques, and standard kitchen sanitation rules.
- Leadership Value: Prior cash handling and supervisory experience is highly desirable.
- Physical Capability: Ability to handle occasional heavy lifting (up to 75 pounds).
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible shifts based on the operational needs of the residential unit
