Food Service Concession Worker

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous food service experience, preferably in a school setting.
• Knowledge of food preparation methods, portion control, proper food handling and storage, inventory control and food ordering.
• Prepare cold food menu items.
• Knowledge and experience in cash handling, cashiering. Good math skills.
• Knowledge of food safety laws and regulations.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a school setting.
• Ability to communicate with students, parents, and staff in an appropriate and respectful manner.
• Ability to work quickly, adjust to changes and work accurately under pressure.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work for improvement.
• Ability to follow the requirements of school food service.
• ServSafe certified within 60 days of job award.
• Must be willing to travel and work ALL CONCESSIONS STANDS in the district in food service when it is in the best interest of the school district.

DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

• Prepare and stock all concession stands in a friendly and pleasant manner.
• Assist in the preparation of food, provide service, and perform other kitchen activities, including dishes, clean up, receiving, and stocking.
• Maintain high sanitary and safety standards in the kitchen and storage areas.
• Accurate cash handling and accounting for daily sales, including performing cashier duties.
• Work independently placing GFS orders and stocking all concession stands and assisting the Director of Food and Nutrition Services toward an effective and efficient food service operation.
• Perform duties at different sites in the district as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Food and Nutrition Services.

HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT: Weekly 15-30 hours - Monday through Friday (time TBD), approximately 2:15 -8:00. Sports events will vary per week and season (position can be also be part of the daily service position in HS Kitchen)

BENEFITS AND SALARY: As per master agreement with Haslett Applied Services Association. Concession Rate$16.50 per hour (HS staff per contract pay scale)
