Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of medical office procedures. This role involves managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, handling medical records, and supporting clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations. This part-time position is for Wednesday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm weekly.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing exceptional customer service at the front desk.
- Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) system
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with health insurance inquiries to facilitate billing processes.
- Manage medical records by filing, retrieving, and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle phone communications efficiently, including appointment confirmations and follow-up calls with patients.
- Assist with documentation review and ensure all patient information is correctly entered into EHR systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a medical office environment or healthcare setting is required.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as NextGen, Epic, or Athenahealth, is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of health insurance procedures
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on phone etiquette and patient service excellence.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Familiarity with clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards is essential.
