As an interventionist, you’ll help students in kindergarten through third grade to become better readers using evidence-based, scripted interventions. With great training and onsite coaching, we’ll prepare you to work one-on-one or in small groups to help kids develop their reading skills and confidence! We are looking for people who have a desire to help kids succeed. Join the team that empowers Michigan kids to reach their highest level of academic achievement in reading and math.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 27.5 hours per week
Requires 5 days per week
Position starts 10/20/2025 and ends 6/6/2026
Total AmeriCorps service term of 675 hours
Compensation/Benefits:
Stipend of $892.65 every other week before taxes (totaling $ 1,785.30 per month before taxes)
Education award of up to $2,817.14 that can be used to repay federal student loans or future education expenses
Federal student loan forbearance; interest accrued paid by AmeriCorps
Member Assistance Program which provides confidential access to a variety of mental health resources.
Michigan Youth Development Associate (Mi-YDA) credential
Community groups and professional learning groups
Member that successfully complete their service will earn up to a $300 bonus.
Minimum required qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older by your start date.
Must have at least a high school diploma or recognized equivalent by your start date.
Must be either a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
Must pass mandatory pre-service background checks.
Must not have served 4 or more prior terms of service with AmeriCorps State or National.
