What are the responsibilities and job description for the MEC Early Learning Corps Interventionist position at Michigan Education Corps?
As an Early Learning Corps Interventionist, you’ll spend your days helping children ages 3-5 to talk, read, write, sing and play in order to develop early literacy and numeracy skills and get ready for Kindergarten. Serving in one classroom, you’ll work closely with a teacher to enhance daily literacy and numeracy activities and help students build both skills and confidence. With great training and onsite coaching, you’ll be ready to make an impact through enhanced opportunities to develop their early language, literacy and math skills. No experience? No problem. Schedule:
30 hours per week.
7.5 service hours per day, M-Th. Half-day Friday occurs once per month.
Position starts 10/20/2025 and ends 5/30/2026
Compensation/Benefits:
Stipend of $920.55 every other week before taxes (totaling $1,841.10 per month before taxes), Education award of up to $2,817.14 that can be used to repay federal student loans or future education expenses

Interventionists who successfully complete their service term will earn up to a $300 bonus.
Minimum qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older by your start date.
Must have at least a high school diploma or recognized equivalent by your start date.
Must be either a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
Must pass mandatory pre-service background checks.
Must not have served 4 or more prior terms of service with AmeriCorps State or National.
