This position will start with a 4 shift trial period to determine if the job is a good fit.
Ice cream department staff cook ice cream base and freeze ice cream.
Required Qualifications
Ice cream department staff must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to follow detailed instructions.
Availability and dependability to work all scheduled shifts.
Strong organization and cleaning skills.
Position requires extended periods of physical activity, including long periods of physical exertion often in freezer temperatures. This will include repeated lifting and stacking.
Must be able to form good working relationships with all staff.
Demonstrated history of dependability and reliability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate the following equipment, efficiently and as directed: Batch freezer (“ice cream machine”), digital scale, immersion blender, digital labeling machine, foamer, squeegee, deck brush.
Repeatedly lift up to 30 pound buckets and pour them without spilling.
Wear shoe covers/plant boots, hairnet, lab coat, and beard net if applicable
Lift 50 pound cases of product repeatedly throughout the shift.
Lift and retrieve heavy objects from high shelves, using a ladder
Work in the freezer organizing and stacking finished product.
Measure products to specified gram quantities using a digital scale.
Work closely in confined spaces with multiple coworkers.
Portion ice cream into packaging neatly and efficiently.
Prioritize and finish tasks as needed to meet production requirements.
Discard product that does not meet standards.
Work clean and put away all product and equipment when each task is complete.

Wash and sanitize all dishes and clean up all spills.
