Overview
The Store Manager is the operational and cultural leader of their Foxtail café and is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience, developing a high-performing team, and ensuring the store operates with excellence every day. This role combines hands-on leadership with disciplined operational oversight, spending approximately 75% of time on the floor and 25% on administrative responsibilities. Store Managers are accountable for maintaining Foxtail’s standards of quality, hospitality, and community connection while driving strong financial and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Development
- Hire, train, coach, and schedule baristas and shift leads to ensure proper staffing and strong performance.
- Build a positive team culture grounded in accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
- Provide real-time coaching; conduct performance feedback, reviews, and development conversations.
- Maintain high morale and foster a sense of community and belonging within the team.
2. Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily operations, including inventory management, ordering, cash handling, and sales performance.
- Ensure accurate execution of labor scheduling, productivity, payroll and cost controls.
- Uphold Foxtail’s ops standards through consistent routines, checklists, team meetings and quality controls.
- Lead from the front during peak hours to ensure efficient throughput, consistent pacing, and strong service.
3. Guest Experience & Product Quality
- Set the tone for hospitality by modeling warm, genuine service.
- Ensure all beverages and food items meet Foxtail’s quality and consistency standards.
- Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, turning issues into positive outcomes.
- Create a welcoming, community environment where guests feel connected to the brand.
- Partner with Regional Manager on online review responses
4. Maintenance, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure the store is clean, safe, and fully compliant with health and sanitation standards.
- Monitor equipment functionality and escalate maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain adherence to safety protocols and Foxtail brand standards.
5. Local Execution & Community Engagement
- Implement seasonal promotions, marketing activations, and brand initiatives.
- Support local community relationships and represent Foxtail as a positive presence.
- Partner with Regional Manager during events and new store openings as needed.
6. Decision-Making & Authority
- Manage labor scheduling and deployment throughout the day.
- Approve petty cash purchases and oversee inventory ordering.
- Make real-time shift decisions to maintain pace, quality, and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
Required
- 2 years of experience in café, restaurant, or retail management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and coach teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage fast-paced, high-volume environments.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- This role requires flexibility to work a varied schedule, including availability seven (7) days per week as business needs dictate, with required availability on weekends and holidays.
Preferred
- Experience with specialty coffee or craft hospitality brands.
- Familiarity with scheduling, basic P&L understanding, and inventory management.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
