Qualifications:
- Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree, preferred in accounting, business, finance, or related field.
- Experience in an accounting role in a Michigan school, preferred.
- Experience with Schools OPEN software, preferred.
- Effective communication skills.

- Exceptional analytical skills and leadership ability.
- Ability to meet deadlines as requested by administrative personnel.
- Ability to use independent judgment, flexibility and work with little supervision, and make decisions in accordance with District policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
- Maintains payroll operations as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all accounting areas of operation within the Business Services department.
- Balances various accounting procedures.
- Utilizes Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, and SchoolsOPEN software to enter and receive information such as financial and/or personnel data.
- Designs and develops computerized reports, spreadsheets and presentations.
- Develops and distributes complex financial reports.
- Verifies financial information for accuracy.
- Assists constituent district personnel with the preparation of payroll data, financial data and statistical reports, as requested by the supervisor.
- Works as a team member to analyze and solve complex accounting transactions.
- Assists constituent school district staff in the analysis of accounting, payroll, and finance procedures through the user group relationships.
- Works with constituent district personnel to provide assistance for the accurate completion of payroll and other related reports.
- Serves in an active role in SchoolsOPEN user groups.
- Provides business/management technical assistance to the local districts.
- Administer employee benefits
- Perform other duties as assigned.
