Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Pipe Layer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy equipment operation in all phases of pipeline installation, with a strong understanding of construction site procedures. This role involves working on various infrastructure projects, including utility installation including water, sewer and drainage. The Pipe Layer will be responsible for ensuring precise placement of pipes and related components, adhering to safety standards and project specifications. Knowledge of installation procedures of all types of pipe. Knowledge to set up an efficient pipe operation
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project plans to determine pipe layout and specifications
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and prepare sites for pipe installation
- Utilize pipe lasers and utility locating tools to ensure accurate alignment and placement of pipes
- Install pipelines for water, sewer other utility systems following safety protocols and engineering standards
- Perform concrete forming and finishing as needed for supporting structures or foundation work
- Use concrete finishing techniques to smooth surfaces around pipe installations
- Operate forklifts safely for material handling and positioning of large pipe sections or equipment
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to all safety regulations on-site
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
Experience
- Proven experience in construction site work, specifically in pipeline installation or utility projects
- Proficiency in heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, forklift, and front loader truck
- Skilled in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings for accurate pipe placement
- Knowledge of concrete forming, finishing is highly desirable
- Ability to operate specialized tools such as pipe lasers and utility locators effectively
- Prior experience working with construction crews on large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred
