My client is a family-owned general contractor nearing 29 years in business, known nationwide for delivering high-quality work across K-12, wastewater, and commercial projects, with a strong presence locally in Indianapolis and throughout Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee. Description
- Manage daily field activities, subcontractors, and self-perform crews across all phases of construction.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce the project schedule; Coordinate sequencing and logistics.
- Ensure work is built per plans, specs, and company standards.
- Enforce site safety projects, conduct toolbox talks, and maintain a zero-incident mindset.
- Lead vendor and crew meetings, monitor productivity, and resolve field issues in real time.
- Maintain daily reports, site photos, manpower tracking, and progress updates.
- Drive final inspections, commissioning support, and turnover documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact on site with project managers, owners, inspectors, and design teams.
100% Travel Superintendents are expected to be self-directed, adaptable, and strong leaders.
Profile
- Experience with ground-up construction.
- 6 years of experience as a Superintendent.
- Scheduling experience, 3-week look-ahead creation experience preferred.
- Experience managing subcontractors.
- Technical efficiency in Procore and MS Project.
- Stong ability to ensure safety.
Not required but will really stand out:
- Came up through the trades.
- Degree in Construction Management or similar.
- Wastewater or power plant experience is a plus.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
