An established general contractor is seeking a traveling Superintendent to oversee ground-up and renovation projects across North and South Carolina. This role is responsible for leading on-site operations, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and quality delivery from start to finish.

Description

The Traveling Superintendent - Southeast Travel Only will be responsible for:

• Oversee all on-site construction activities from mobilization through closeout
• Manage subcontractors, scheduling, and daily site coordination
• Drive project timelines to ensure milestones and deadlines are met
• Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, compliant job site
• Coordinate inspections, approvals, and quality control processes
• Work closely with Project Managers to track progress and resolve issues
• Lead subcontractor meetings and maintain clear on-site communication
• Ensure materials, manpower, and equipment are aligned with project needs

Profile

The successful Traveling Superintendent - Southeast Travel Only will have the following experience:

• 5 years of experience as a Superintendent within commercial construction
• Proven experience managing ground-up or large-scale renovation projects
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and safety standards
• Ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors effectively
• Willingness to travel throughout North and South Carolina
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency with construction scheduling and reporting tools

5 years of construction Project Manager experience with a general contractor is required
Experience on ground-up education, healthcare, and/or commercial construction projects is required
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or relevant degree preferred
Applicable Project Management Software experience preferred
Developed thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc.
and their impact on project success
Maintains good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with anyone from clients to subcontractors
Must be a business-oriented person and act professionally when representing the employer at any level
Local to Charlotte preferred, though relocators will be considered

Salary : $75,000 - $100,000
