Job Description
- Perform Routine testing for Microbiology test and Assay in a timely manner.
- Site Subject Matter Expert (SME) and oversee the environmental monitoring programs (EMP), including schedule adherence, monitoring, trending, spot mapping, audits, trainings and OOS investigations.
- Perform Environmental testing includes collect water and Air sample.
- Prepare media and reagents as required.
- Update inventory includes check for Expired material and dispose, and order supply with manager's approval.
- Ensure equipment is in good standing and necessary calibrations are current/
- Maintain upkeep, storage, and scheduling of pick up of Micro waste.
- Develop, validate, and document new microbiological analytical methods, including probiotics.
- Perform literature search for analytical methods, and revises and/or generate SOPs.
- Coordinate and/or conduct training for new laboratory personnel.
- Participates in Lab Group Meetings and in-house/outside trainings to enhance analytical knowledge and productivity.
- Ensure laboratory compliance with cGMP, GLP, and SOPs.
- Execute root cause analyses (RCA) pertinent OOS investigation.
- Build and Performs trainings for hygienic practices and good sanitation principles
- Perform light clerical duties, such as data entry, logs incoming samples, records analytical results, and preparation of reports.
- Lead Microbiological Technical Projects i.e. improve testing process/methods, method transfers, method validations, etc.
- Write, revise, and review standard operating procedures, protocols, and work instructions.
- Lead and manage sample volume and scheduling to ensure timely turn around.
- Responsible for establishing accommodations for new equipment, maintenance of micro equipment, and scheduling of PM/calibrations of micro equipment.

The Successful Applicant
A Successful Sr. Microbiologist Should Have
- BS in Microbiology, Life Science or a closely related scientific field.
- 5-7 years of on-the-job experience
- Experience with routine and probiotic microbiological practices.
- Proficient in aseptic technique and general lab practice. Experience in Out-of-Specifications (OOS), Non-Conformance (NC) and Corrective Action/Preventative Action (CAPA) for microbiology test failures.
- Knowledgeable vectoring and common industry practices for investigation.
- Experience plating and 3M petri film testing.
- Experience corresponding with outside laboratories regarding samples.
- Experience optimizing workflow in an production environment.
