Job Description
- Manage high-voltage transmission and substation projects from initiation through closeout.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering, design, procurement, and construction teams.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and financial forecasts.
- Serve as the primary client point of contact throughout project execution.
- Oversee projects ranging from 69kV-500kV including new substations, expansions, transmission lines, switchyards, and grid modernization programs.
- Coordinate engineering deliverables including physical, protection & controls, civil, structural, and transmission line design.
- Manage project scope, change orders, risk mitigation, and contract administration.
- Monitor project financial performance including revenue recognition, forecasting, and profitability.
- Coordinate with utilities, permitting agencies, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead project meetings, executive reporting, and client presentations.
- Ensure compliance with company QA/QC procedures, safety requirements, and industry standards.
- Mentor Project Managers, Project Engineers, and technical staff.
- Support business development efforts including proposals, estimates, and client relationship management.
- Identify opportunities for additional work with existing clients.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Senior Project Manager - Transmission & Substation should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 10 years of experience managing electric utility infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing HV Transmission and/or Substation projects (69kV-500kV).
- Proven experience managing projects through the complete lifecycle.
- Strong background managing engineering and construction teams.
- Experience managing project budgets ranging from $5M-$100M .
- Strong knowledge of utility project execution, scheduling, contracts, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
