About Our Client

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with T&D expertise to oversee transmission and distribution projects in the Texas Panhandle, Amarillo. This role manages projects from concept through commissioning, including budgets, schedules, field execution, and client coordination. You will play a critical role in ensuring safe, on-time, and high-quality delivery of T&D assets.

Job Description

• Manage T&D projects including substations (69kV-345kV), transmission lines (69kV-345kV), and distribution networks (12kV-69kV).
• Lead project teams, including engineers, designers, and field crews.
• Coordinate with utilities, contractors, and vendors to ensure project alignment with scope and objectives.
• Conduct project kickoff meetings, weekly progress reviews, and client updates.
  
  

Planning, Scheduling, & Budgeting

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting.
• Identify and mitigate schedule or cost risks before they impact delivery.
  
  

Engineering & Technical Oversight

• Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and material submittals.
• Ensure compliance with NERC, IEEE, and local utility standards.
• Monitor site construction, including excavation, foundations, equipment installation, grounding, and cable installation.
  
  

Construction & Commissioning Management

• Oversee contractor performance and safety adherence in the field.
• Supervise energization, testing, and commissioning of transmission and distribution systems.
• Ensure proper documentation of QA/QC, punch lists, and closeout reports.
  
  

Risk & Stakeholder Management

• Identify and manage project risks, scope changes, and technical issues.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, utilities, and regulators.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and field staff.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Project Manager - Transmission & Distribution should have:

• 5 years of T&D project management experience
• Experience managing high-voltage projects (69kV - 345kV)
• Familiarity with project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar)
• Knowledge of utility standards, permitting, and regulatory compliance
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
