Our client is seeking a Project Engineer IV - High Voltage Transmission to lead the execution and delivery of complex, large-scale transmission infrastructure projects. This senior-level position will oversee engineering coordination, project performance, stakeholder management, and overall project execution from planning through commissioning and closeout. The role requires a strong understanding of high-voltage transmission systems and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Job Description
- Lead execution of high-voltage transmission projects (115kV-765kV ) through all phases including planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout
- Serve as primary engineering/project interface for clients, utilities, contractors, and internal teams
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget performance, forecasting, change orders, and risk mitigation strategies
- Direct multidisciplinary engineering teams including transmission line, substation, civil, environmental, and construction support functions
- Oversee engineering deliverables to ensure technical quality, constructability, and compliance with applicable standards
- Drive project schedules and coordinate resource planning across multiple workstreams
- Review and approve technical packages, design changes, and construction support activities
- Support commercial discussions, proposals, project planning, and execution strategy development
- Identify and resolve technical and execution challenges while maintaining schedule commitments
- Monitor project KPIs and provide executive-level reporting and status communication
- Mentor junior engineers and support technical development across project teams
- Participate in business development activities and support future project opportunities
The Successful Applicant
A Successful Project Engineer IV - Transmission Should Have
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
- 10 years of experience supporting and leading high-voltage transmission or utility infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated experience managing projects valued at $25M-$250M preferred
- Strong understanding of transmission engineering, project controls, permitting, procurement, and construction execution
- Experience working directly with utilities, EPC firms, consultants, or owner's engineering teams
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities across multiple projects
- Excellent communication, client management, and leadership skills
- Competitive salary ranging from $200,000 to $240,000 annually.
