Job Description
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of complex overhead and underground distribution projects.
- Serve as the technical authority on engineering design decisions, ensuring compliance with utility standards, NESC, and applicable codes.
- Review and approve engineering calculations, construction drawings, and detailed design packages.
- Provide technical direction to project teams and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
- Coordinate with clients, utilities, and stakeholders to define scope, resolve technical issues, and ensure project alignment.
- Oversee system studies including load flow, voltage drop, protection coordination, and reliability improvements.
- Support construction and field activities, including troubleshooting and commissioning assistance.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality, safety, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Contribute to proposal development, cost estimating, and project planning efforts.
- Promote and enforce company safety standards across all project phases.
- Drive process improvements and engineering best practices within the team.
The Successful Applicant
A Successful Project Engineer IV - Distribution Should Have
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 8 years of experience in electrical distribution engineering.
- Strong expertise in overhead and underground distribution system design.
- Advanced knowledge of utility standards, NESC, and engineering codes.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex projects.
- Strong communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
