Description
Preconstruction Manager - Commercial Construction - Columbia will be responsible for:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to assess scope and requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and solicit subcontractor/vendor pricing.
- Develop and submit complete bid proposals in response to RFPs and ITBs.
- Collaborate with preconstruction and project teams to align on scope, schedule, and budget.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
- Maintain historical cost data and track market pricing trends.
- Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings to evaluate project conditions.
- Monitor bid outcomes and provide follow-up as needed.
Profile
Preconstruction Manager - Commercial Construction - Columbia should have:
- 3 years of estimating experience in the construction industry, ideally with a commercial general contractor
- Residential experience is not applicable for this role
- Experience with negotiated bids preferred
- Bachelor Degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field of study desired
- Must have an outstanding business acumen and professional demeanor to manage client relationships
- Construction software proficiency / general tech savvyness
Job Offer
Preconstruction Manager - Commercial Construction - Columbia will receive:
- Base salary $110K-$140K contingent on experience
- Annual bonus
