Job Description
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of transmission and substation projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, forecasting, and risk mitigation activities.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, construction, environmental, permitting, and commissioning personnel.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for utility clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.
- Oversee substation greenfield and brownfield projects, including AIS and GIS facilities.
- Manage transmission line projects involving overhead and underground systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety programs, quality standards, utility specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Review project deliverables, change orders, RFIs, contracts, and construction documentation.
- Support procurement activities, contractor management, and vendor coordination.
- Monitor project performance metrics and provide regular status updates to leadership and clients.
- Mentor junior project managers and project engineers while supporting business growth initiatives.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Lead Project Manager - Transmission & Substation should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 8 years of project management experience supporting utility, transmission, or substation projects.
- Experience managing projects within the 69kV-500kV range.
- Strong understanding of utility construction, engineering design, commissioning, and project controls.
- Proven experience managing client relationships and multidisciplinary project teams.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Utility, EPC, consulting engineering, or owner-operator experience preferred.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $160,000 to $180,000 USD.
