Description
Varied responsibilities for the General Counsel include:
- Providing hands-on and strategic legal counsel to the company President, senior leadership team and business stakeholders.
- Ensure a healthy culture of robust compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as industry regulations.
- Overseeing corporate governance matters.
- Managing a small legal and compliance team who largely handle day-to-day contract management.
- Manage outside counsel on complex matters (e.g. litigation when needed).
- Oversee and advise on risk management strategies to protect the organization.
- Lead, mentor and develop the legal team to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives while mitigating legal risks.
- Remote role with some domestic travel and occasional international travel.

Profile
The successful General Counsel will have demonstrable background:
- A US law degree and admission to the bar.
- Extensive knowledge of corporate law, compliance, and risk management ([referably in the industrial/ manufacturing industry).
- The ability to provide strategic legal advice to senior leadership teams.
- Strong leadership and team management experience.
