Job Description
The position requires significant on‑site project involvement, which may include business travel or long‑term field assignments, to support field execution, testing, and commissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Observe, promote, and enforce company and site safety policies.
- Review project specifications and contracts to identify completion and commissioning requirements.
- Define, create, verify, and finalize system and subsystem turnover boundaries and turnover packages.
- Establish tracking tools, reporting systems, and turnover documentation; ensure field teams understand and properly implement these tools.
- Plan, review, and communicate vendor and supplier requirements related to commissioning and startup activities.
- Develop, implement, and execute commissioning and startup plans.
- Ensure field teams properly execute completion and commissioning plans and address deficiencies as needed.
- Perform verification, inspection, acceptance, or rejection of construction completion for equipment and systems.
- Inspect installed devices and validate field setup, configuration, and required verifications.
- Coordinate and lead checkout, testing, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning activities; troubleshoot equipment and system issues.
- Ensure accurate, complete, and timely documentation of all activities to support project recordkeeping, reporting, and turnover requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Assistant and Staff‑level personnel within the Completions and Commissioning group.
- Independently lead completions and commissioning efforts on assigned projects, including proposal and planning support.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of testing equipment, commissioning procedures, PLCs, and field control systems integrated into startup activities.
- Provide oversight and support across multiple disciplines, including:
- Mechanical: piping, rotating and stationary equipment, steel, welding, rigging, insulation, heat trace, coatings, hydrostatic testing, fire protection, and painting.
- Electrical: installation, conduit, cable pulls, relay testing, substations, terminations, and related systems.
The Successful Applicant
- Minimum 7 years of completions and/or commissioning experience in industrial or commercial construction environments.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering/Technology, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency, including MS Office Suite, Bluebeam, Hexagon Smart Completions, and cloud‑based project systems.
- Proven ability to operate independently in field environments while coordinating across engineering, construction, and client teams.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Competitive hourly pay between $60 and $75 USD.
