Job Description
In this role you will report directly to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for:
- Supervising and supporting the electrical assembly team in wiring, installing, and troubleshooting equipment
- Planning and assigning daily tasks to ensure on-time delivery of equipment builds and adhering to production schedules.
- Reviewing and interpreting electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
- Ensuring quality standards, safety compliance (e.g., NEC, OSHA), and proper documentation throughout the production process.
- Collaborating with mechanical/electrical engineering, controls, and project management teams to resolve design issues and implementing process improvements.
- Overseeing installation and startup of equipment at customer sites when required (occasional travel may be happening).
- Managing department resources including tools, test equipment, and electrical inventory.
- Providing hands-on troubleshooting and training support to team members.
- Maintaining accurate documentation for wiring procedures, testing protocols, and continuous improvement efforts
The Successful Applicant
A Successful Candidate Will Have
- 5 years of electrical experience, preferably in industrial, capital equipment, or custom machinery environments.
- 2 years of supervisory experience, with a proven ability to lead, delegate, and manage a small team (3-4 journeymen/electricians).
- Strong hands-on skills and comfort working alongside the team when needed.
- Working knowledge of CE, UL, NEC, and OSHA electrical standards.
- Solid understanding of industrial controls, including PLCs, VFDs, and motor control systems.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with strong time management and task delegation skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize electrical systems in custom or industrial equipment.
